Merry Christmas, Baby!

If you are  new mom, or a mom again, you know what I'm talking about. It's a lot of pressure. Despite the fact that they won't actually remember any of it, we moms feel a need to make babies first Christmas the best one ever.  I can't tell you how much time I have spent looking for the ultimate Christmas present for that first year, at least for the picture's sake!

I have decided, however, that there is actually an ideal age for it, not that you have much control. I have four children, and my first was ten months old for her first Christmas. And of all my babies, hers was my favorite. She actually cared about the baby toys that we had for her!  And, like all babies, she loved the wrapping paper as much as the toys. But it was such a joy to watch her sweet little face light up as she ripped the wrapping paper to shreds or danced to the music Christmas is so full of.  Somehow, babies make everything more wonderful.
